Design and maintain cost accounting procedures for the Verona and Tucson facility. Timely and accurate completion of job functions. Work with manufacturing and engineering personnel to keep standards current and accurate. Prepare reports and present to management as appropriate. Prepare and submit schedules to external auditors. Approve daily cycle count transactions. Responsibility and authority to manage various projects as directed.
Design, document and maintain costing procedures for all production activity.
Prepare periodic work order variance reports and present to Plant Managers and Production Managers.
Work with engineering and production teams to show them where excessive costs are being applied or scrap is incurred.
Prepare profitability analyses, review company product margins with Company management, make pricing recommendations as appropriate.
Prepare monthly and yearend inventory. Review costing and review inventory for accuracy. Work to streamline inventory process, with the goal of getting to a perpetual inventory.
Review daily cycle counts and approve adjustments as appropriate.
Review activity to determine accuracy of scrap reporting, time reporting and work with appropriate parties to understand or cure the issues.
Cost new parts and update the standard cost in the Epicor ERP system.
Maintain standard costs in system. Perform cost rolls as appropriate.
Arrive to work in a punctual manner and be willing to work extra hours when needed.
Review methods of manufacturing by observing activity on the manufacturing floor.
Maintain a focus on streamlining processes and continuous improvement in information and analysis.
Create, enhance and maintain reports in Epicor as trained.
Other ad hoc duties and projects as requested.
Education and Experience Requirement
Bachelors degree in accounting, 10 years of demonstrated experience in maintaining and leading a cost accounting function. CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.
Skilled in applying costing procedures to manufactured parts and raw materials and applying good accrual accounting practices.
Excellent understanding of the economics of manufacturing.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to instruct and influence others to adopt new procedures.
Good understanding of purchasing, shipping and receiving, and quality management systems.
Excellent Excel skills including using pivot tables to assimilate large amounts of data into meaningful analyses that others will be able to use easily and understand.
Good organization skills, be able to multi-task.
Experienced in the use of Word and PowerPoint.
Experienced in using and extracting data using queries from an ERP system in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum Job Requirements
Physical- Sedentary work, proficient in using a 10 key and proficient in using a PC keyboard. Ability to move about the manufacturing floor with or without accommodation.
Working Hours- fulltime (40+ hrs/week) employment
Personal Traits- Good communication skills. Ability to multi-task due to varied jobs. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy.
