The Audit Manager will work with the engagement team to plan engagement objectives, determine audit strategy, conduct field work, and review and prepare the audit results. The Manager is responsible for the performance of the audit procedures, with particular focus on complex, judgmental, and specialized areas. As a member of the engagement team, the Manager will work with Supervisors, Senior Accountants, Staff accountants and Interns to provide training and guidance in completion of assigned tasks. Major Responsibilities Include:
Manage complicated audit, review and compilation areas in accordance with firm and professional standards.
Manage department workflow and ensure staff meet billable hour expectations.
Participate in audit planning, budgeting, and staff supervision.
Perform audit, review and compilation testing.
Review work papers completed by other audit staff.
Communicate with clients to gather information, resolve audit-related problems, and make recommendations.
Work with the audit team to identify and resolve client issues.
Research technical issues.
Respond to client requests in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
Prepare and review client correspondence.
Manage client expectations and ensure satisfaction.
Mentor, motivate and develop audit staff by providing learning opportunities, guidance and serving as a professional role model.
Manages staff performance evaluations for department, and seeks feedback from others.
Promote a positive work environment that strives for continuous improvement.
Play an active role in firm strategic and succession planning.
Assist in administrative areas including business development, billing, and continuing professional education.
Education / Experience:
Current CPA Certification
6+ years of public accounting audit experience in governments and non-profits.
Demonstrated management, analytical, interpersonal, and project management skills.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Excellent team skills, positive attitude and high ethical standards.
Excellent communication, organizational, and attention to detail skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline driven environment.
Commitment to quality and the timely completion of work.
Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office and various accounting software including CCH products, Creative Solutions products, and research tools.
Valid driver’s license.
