What you'll do: Record the financial position of the Enterprise in an accurate and timely manner. Provide project leadership to the accounting department. Collaborates with the Accounting Manager, VP Accounting, and CFO on department initiatives. Prepares audit and regulatory reports for the Credit Union.
• Accurately measure, record and report the financial performance of the Enterprise. Demonstrated understanding of sound accounting principles (GAAP) and compliance with all credit union regulations • Oversee cost accounting entries to ensure they accurately reflect the financial performance of branches and departments within the Enterprise • Develop competency expertise with the Core data processing system(s) at multiple levels to allow for a greater understanding of how branch transactions affect the general ledger and the Enterprise • Respond to inquiries from the branches, business units or other internal departments with an emphasis on providing superior customer service • Prepare daily and monthly journal entries and general ledger reconciliations, quarterly call report (5300 Report), and all other regulatory required or QA reports as needed • Perform the month end consolidation process • Prepare and review the Financial Statements for accuracy
Experience: 3-5+ years Accounting experience, financial industry or supervisory experience a plus.
• General accounting knowledge, including GAAP, G/L, A/P, A/R, and Financial Reporting • Understanding of accounting issues applicable to Financial Services industry • Financial Institution accounting regulation knowledge • Accounting spreadsheets and software • Knowledge of Prologue, Symitar, Windows Office including Excel and Word, and database management skills desired.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree; CPA desired. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
